Brian Harman is becoming a consistent force at the British Open.

Two years after dominating Royal Liverpool, the American is once again in strong position at Royal Portrush. Harman is eyeing another major win for his resume at the 2025 Open Championship. 

Harman is a veteran of the game, as he’s been playing in major tournaments for over a decade. However, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing for the lefty, who has had his fair share of struggles in the biggest tournaments of the year.

Has Brian Harman won a major?

Brian Harman has won a major, as he came out victorious in the 2023 British Open at Royal Liverpool. Harman cruised to victory that year, taking a five-shot lead after the second round and winning the event by a commanding six shots.

The Masters has been Harman’s toughest major, as he finished in the top 35 just once in seven starts. Additionally, he’s missed over half of his cuts at the year’s first tournament, while his best finish was tied for 12th in 2021.

Harman has appeared in the PGA Championship more than any other major tournament to mixed results. He’s yet to finish in the top 10 at the event, but after two top-15 finishes in his first three starts, he’s failed to finish in the top 25 over the next eight years.

After missing the cut at his first two U.S. Open, Harman tied for second in 2017 for his second-best finish at a major. Since then, he has been remarkably consistent at the tournament, making eight-straight cuts but failing to finish higher than 19th just once.

Harman’s lone major victory came at the British Open in 2023, when he cruised to at Royal Liverpool. The lefty won the tournament in commanding fashion by six strokes, which is tied for the largest margin of victory at a British Open since 2011.

Additionally, Harman’s third-best finish at a major came a year before his victory, as he finished tied-for-sixth at the 2022 British Open in St. Andrews. Besides that, he missed four cuts in his first five starts at the event, but has been a steady performer since 2021.
