Brice Turang is on one.
Specifically, on an absolutely blazing hot heater of a streak that has the Milwaukee Brewers remaining atop baseball and has Turang outdoing even Shohei Ohtani.
Since August 1, Turang has hit 12 home runs. Ohtani only has 10 in that span.
And it’s much more unlikely for Turang to hit double-digit homers over a month-and-a-half. He only had six entering August, and now he has 18 for the season.
In his rookie campaign in 2023, he hit six out of the park. Then in 2024, he had a career-high home run total with seven.
But now he’s pretty much unstoppable.

His average is up to a career-best .289. He has stolen 24 bags, down from his 50 a year ago, but it’s pretty hard to steal when you’re just trotting around the bases on a long ball.
It’s a remarkable development, and maybe Turang is due to come back to earth, but it’s been really cool to watch.
Turang was a first-round pick in 2018, 21st overall by the Brewers.
The interesting thing is that before his draft year, he was shaping up as a potentially generational prospect. And then by the time the draft rolled around, he had regressed in scouts’ minds enough to feel like a very safe pick, but maybe not with as much upside as they initially thought.
Well how’s 12 homers in 45 days for upside?
Turang has found something, and if it keeps working, it makes the already-dangerous Brewers that much more potent for the postseason.
