The Atlanta Braves have a lot of decisions to make this offseason, with one of the biggest being finding a new manager. However, there are a ton of options this offseason, and all Atlanta has to do is narrow it down.
Fansided’s Robert Murray believes one of those options could be former Braves player Mark DeRosa, who played with the team from 1998-2004.

“Stop me if you’ve heard this before: when it comes to the Braves’ managerial search, there are not many whispers about where this thing could go. That’s the type of operation Alex Anthopoulos runs. But DeRosa, who played seven seasons with the Braves and debuted with the team in 1998, makes plenty of sense here,” Murray wrote.
DeRosa became an analyst after he called it wraps on his 16-year career, but he also does have some managing experience.
While it wasn’t in the MLB, it could be argued it was in an even better league. DeRosa was the manager of the 2023 Team USA for the World Baseball Classic, and he will be returning to the role next year in 2026.

Managing a bunch of superstars is probably the best experience you can get. He also did under the pressure of representing his country, which definitely adds stress to any decision making.
If the Braves give him a call, he probably will answer. And if he can lead the team as well as he has Team USA, the Braves’ future would look pretty good.
