Braves’ Brian Snitker makes Ronald Acuna Jr. announcement after drama

In a recently deleted tweet from Ronald Acuna Jr. of the Atlanta Braves, he said that he would’ve been benched if he had done what Jarred Kelenic did, when Kelenic didn’t run out a ball hit off the wall and was thrown out at second base.

An easy double, or perhaps a triple, turned into a single and out for the Braves youngster.

This was a clear shot at head coach Brian Snitker, and he commented on it after the Braves’ game on Sunday. Snitker, one of the top managers in Major League Baseball, and clearly well respected around the league, wasn’t made aware of the comment and hadn’t talked to Acuna at the time.

However, according to a report from David O’Brien of The Athletic, Snitker said that each incident is different, and he didn’t realize that Kelenic got thrown out because of his actions.

“Snitker said all such incidents are different, didn’t elaborate on how Kelenic incident was different but said he didn’t realize until he saw replay today thatwas why he got thrown out,” O’Brien wrote.

Snitker then responded to Acuna, saying that he didn’t see the tweet, and it’s down now.

“I didn’t see it and it’s down now. I haven’t talked to him.”

A challenging situation for all involved, this certainly stems from some frustration, given how the Braves are playing.

The team has now won three games in a row, sweeping the Minnesota Twins in Atlanta over the weekend. However, at 8-13 and 6.5 games behind the New York Mets in the National League East, Atlanta has plenty to work on.

That starts with Snitker and his superstar.
