The Toronto Blue Jays are back in the World Series for the first time in 22 years, and they will face the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Blue Jays finished the regular season with the best record in the American League and then advances through the ALDS and ALCS to reach the World Series.
The World Series will get underway on Friday night in Toronto, and on Friday afternoon, the Blue Jays revealed their starting lineup for Game 1.
Blue Jays reveal Game 1 starting lineup
The big question coming in was where would star shortstop Bo Bichette play. Bichette returned from injury and made the World Series roster, but nobody knows how healthy he truly is.
Bichette must be feeling pretty good because the Blue Jays have him batting cleanup and playing at second base in Game 1. Here’s the rest of the lineup.
Blue Jays starting lineup:
- George Springer DH
- Davis Schneider LF
- Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1B
- Bo Bichette 2B
- Alejandro Kirk C
- Daulton Varsho CF
- Ernie Clement 3B
- Myles Straw RF
- Andrés Giménez SS
There’s some notable changes to the Blue Jays’ lineup for Game 1 of the World Series.
With left-handed pitcher Blake Snell on the mound for the Dodgers, left-handed batter Nathan Lukes, who batted second in the ALCS, will not start, and neither will Addison Barger.
Those two bats have been monumental in the Blue Jays contact-heavy offensive production this season.

In their place will be right-handed outfielders Schneider and Straw. Straw is an elite fielder and has postseason experience from his time with the Houston Astros.
Schneider is 1-for-2 in his career against Snell, Kirk is 2-for-2 and Guerrero Jr. is 2-for-6 with a double, according to fantasyinfocentral.com.
The Blue Jays will keep left-handed hitters Varsho and Giménez in the lineup, playing in center field and shortstop, respectively.
Varsho is 2-for-7 with a double off of Snell and Springer is 5-for-14 with a home run.
The Blue Jays will have rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage on the mound to start Game 1 against Snell. The Dodgers’ pitcher has been historically good in the postseason, but if there’s one lineup that could knock him off of his game, it may be Toronto’s.
