Despite no blood relation, Davis Schneider and manager John Schneider had a connection early in their time together.
It stemmed from the glove Davis was using as he broke into MLB in 2023. He had found it in a lost-and-found at his offseason training center.
The glove had the letters VUK on it.
This is the glove Davis Schneider is using to play in his 3rd MLB game.
He found it in “lost and found” at the place Davis coaches in the off season.

Vuk turned out to be John Vukovich, a decade-long MLB player who died of cancer in 2007.
John Schneider was Vukovich’s college roommate and teammate at Delaware.
The baseball world is small and full of connections, that’s for sure.
