Blue Jays manager expects George Springer to be in the lineup for Game 6

During Game 3 of the World Series, Toronto Blue Jays slugger George Springer injured himself. After swinging at a pitch, he instantly grabbed his back in pain and had to be removed from the game.

Initial reports indicated he was dealing with right-side discomfort. Many expected it to be an oblique injury, which could have cost him the rest of the series.

Springer sat out Game 4 and Game 5, but was seen with his helmet on late during Game 5. He was available as a pinch runner, but that never came to fruition as the Blue Jays were able to pull away from the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Now that Springer has had some time to rest and recover a bit, he is starting to feel better. Fans will be excited to hear that manager John Schenider expects him to be ready to go and in the lineup for Game 6 on Friday, via MLB insider Bob Nightengale.

This is bad news for the Dodgers, who have not been able to take advantage of Springer not being in the lineup for the last two games. Now, they must figure out how to slow down the Blue Jays’ bats with a key contributor returning.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto will be tasked with trying to get this series to reach the ever-important Game 7. However, he could have his hands full with the trio of Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and George Springer.
