Blue Jays break insane 124 year MLB drought after Rockies series

2025 has been a great year for the Blue Jays.

They’re 68-48, with the best record in the AL East and also the best record in the AL overall.

It’s been almost nine years since they won a playoff game, despite making the postseason three times since their last playoff win.

That could all change, as they’re on pace to make the playoffs and in line to get a postseason bye.

Their productive season continued this week, as they made some incredible history along the way, in their series against the Rockies.

What history did Toronto make this week?

The Blue Jays had a three-game series in Colorado this week, with every game being far from close.

Toronto had double-digit run totals in every game, totalling 45 runs in the series.

That itself is very impressive, but to get runs, you need hits, and Toronto got their fair share of hits.

Throughout the three-game series, they had a total of 63 hits. That’s an average of 21 hits per game.

Their hit total set an MLB modern-day record for the most hits by a team in a three-game series.

It was the first time since 1901 that an MLB team had that many hits in a three-game series, breaking a 124-year drought (via StatMuse).

The Rockies aren’t exactly having the best season, with just 30 wins through 114 games played (the worst in MLB this season), but it’s still impressive nonetheless for the Blue Jays to achieve such a feat that hasn’t been accomplished in well over a century.

Toronto will face a tougher test as they continue their road trip this weekend, heading to Los Angeles for a three-game series with the Dodgers starting Friday.
