Addison Barger has been a revelation this season for the Toronto Blue Jays.
The left-handed slugger puts up remarkable exit velocities that have translated to on-field success. He appears to be a rising star for Toronto.
But on Sunday’s broadcast, Blue Jays announcer Dan Shulman told an incredible story.
When Barger hits off the machine from the right side, also known as the side he doesn’t hit from at all in MLB, he hits the ball up to 115 miles per hour.
Dan Shulman just told a story on air that Addison Barger has measured 115mph exit velocities off the Trajekt … as a right-handed hitter.

According to the Sportsnet reporter Murphy, only 36 players in MLB this season have hit a ball at 115mph or more.
So that ability puts Barger in rare company.
There’s no telling how consistent Barger would be from the right side if he decided to switch to it full time out of nowhere.
But this really emphasizes how special an athlete he is. He shouldn’t be able to do that, but he can. Barger is special.
