Blockbuster trade proposal has LeBron, Curry teaming up to each capture fifth ring

LeBron James and Stephen Curry have battled each other for the past decade, giving fans a rivalry that will go down in history.

They have met four times in the championship in the past decade, playing for opposite teams.

But can you imagine if these two legends were on the same team? Sam Quinn of CBS Sports certainly can, and even lays out a situation in which it happens.

“The Warriors have two feasible paths to matching salaries for James. The first would be a straight-up swap involving Butler. However, such an arrangement would be untenable for the Lakers at the moment,” Quinn said on August 26. “They presumably wouldn’t care that James, set to turn 41 in December, is older than Butler because he’s the better player. More importantly, he more directly addresses what they need in a Curry co-star.

“More likely, any big names that move in the near future will do so via trade. And that’s where a James move starts to make more sense for the Lakers.”

Curry and James have grown more into friends than enemies, and it seems both parties have expressed interest in playing together.

If it were to happen, it would likely be in the Golden State, but that wouldn’t be the first time they shared the court together.

In the 2024 Olympics, they put on a show for the United States and showed the world what it would be like if they were on the same team.

It may be unlikely, but a pairing of the two would be hard not to watch.
