The New York Knicks are widely considered top contenders in the East following their Eastern Conference finals loss to the Indiana Pacers last postseason.
New York has its sights set on its first title since 1973, with newly acquired depth pieces surrounding a star-studded lineup.
Still, that doesn’t mean the Knicks wouldn’t jump at the chance to acquire another star alongside Jalen Brunson. While it seems unlikely, the team has been linked to Giannis Antetokounmpo should he request a trade from the Milwaukee Bucks.
Knicks mock trade sends Karl-Anthony Towns to Heat
Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report recently put together a massive five-team trade that would land the Knicks one of the best players of the last quarter-century, parting with star big man Karl-Anthony Towns.

Here’s Bailey’s proposed trade:
Knicks receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Bucks receive: Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rozier, Harrison Barnes, 2026 first-round pick (NYK via WAS), 2030 first-round pick (MIA), 2030 first-round pick swap (NYK), 2032 first-round pick swap (NYK), 2032 first-round pick (MIA), 2031 second-round pick (top-50 protected via UTA), three second-round picks (NYK)
Heat receive: Karl-Anthony Towns
Spurs receive: Lauri Markkanen
Jazz receive: Keldon Johnson, Bobby Portis, Jeremy Sochan, Tyler Kolek, 2029 first-round pick (SAN), 2031 first-round pick (SAN)
In this scenario, the Knicks would give up a substantial haul of draft picks and Towns, but landing a player of Antetokounmpo’s caliber would make it worthwhile. Mitchell Robinson would likely start alongside Antetokounmpo in New York’s frontcourt, forming a formidable defensive duo.
While Antetokounmpo isn’t able to stretch the floor like Towns, New York already has Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby to deliver from three-point range.
A trade of this magnitude seems nearly impossible, but the Knicks remain a team to monitor if the two-time MVP pushes for a move out of Milwaukee.
