Bills’ Josh Allen makes big statement during reported wedding week

This could be a very big week for Josh Allen.

Mum is the word for the Buffalo Bills, but a few months ago, Dion Dawkins let slip a hint that suggested Allen’s wedding to Hailee Steinfeld was on May 31, which is Saturday.

On Tuesday, the Bills opened organized team activities, their voluntary offseason workouts.

Allen has missed out on OTAs before, back in 2022 when he spent a couple days away to play in the golf competition “The Match.”

But if this is Allen’s wedding week, you wouldn’t know it by his attendance: He’s in Western New York getting better with his teammates.

“I think it says everything,” head coach Sean McDermott told reporters. “He is the face of our organization. He is the leader of our team. When he’s here, like anything else as a leader, it speaks and it holds a tremendous amount of weight. Like any leader, and in particular the leader of the team, those words that he says and his actions are exponentially impactful to the whole roster, the whole team.”

Allen didn’t speak with reporters on Tuesday, but McDermott was asked about the wedding.

“I’m not going to get into any of that. Good try,” McDermott said. “But he is as confident and calm, cool and collected as he always is.”

The Bills are chasing a Super Bowl, and Allen is their leading man.

All the little things, the hard days of work months before the season starts, can matter in the long run.

Allen knows that, and so he’s on the field representing as the face of the franchise, exactly where he’s meant to be even if he is lined up to get hitched this weekend.
