The stars of the women’s game will be teeing off in the first tournament of the re-branded Aramco International Series at Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia this week for a share of a $5 million prize fund.
The Saudi-backed series has increased its total investment in the unique format women’s tournaments by 30%, contributing $13 million to the Ladies European Tour prize purse for 2025.
There are five events in the global series, taking place in Riyadh, Seoul, London, USA, and Shenzhen, each carrying a minimum prize fund of $2 million — double last year.

What is the 2025 Aramco International Series format?
The first of these unique three-day team format events tees off in Riyadh from February 13-15 2025. It features four professionals in a better-ball format over 36-holes competing for the team title, before the top 60 and ties compete in a final day shoot-out to crown an individual champion. It’s fun, exciting to watch and encourages high drama and low-scoring.
The AIS has had a shake-up to the team composition for 2025, removing amateurs from the teams to professionalise the women’s events.
The lure of the money is a definite draw as the start sheet contains a host of big name players, who have travelled to the Middle East.
Among those teeing off at Riyadh Golf Club are Major champion and world No.3 Ruoning Yin, along with last year’s season-ending showdown champion Charley Hull.
The English star has her sights firmly set on a major championship title in 2025 and will be hoping for a fast start to her season in Saudi Arabia.
