Beyonce halftime show reviews: The best reactions to 2024 NFL Christmas performance

The NFL once again took over Christmas Day in 2024. Despite the holiday falling on a Wednesday this year, football fans still had plenty to watch with two AFC matchups during the day.

The first game saw the Steelers getting blown out by the Chiefs, with the second seeing the Ravens dominating the Texans. Both games were on Netflix and were just the third and fourth times, respectively, the NFL has played games on a Wednesday.

Music icon Beyonce performed the halftime show during the Ravens vs. Texans halftime, titled “A Cowboy Carter Christmas,” and it’s safe to say her performance was the most memorable of the day.

Everyone was wondering what songs she would play from the album and if she would mix in any holiday songs. Queen B put on an incredible show, sticking to tracks from her latest album. She was joined by Shaboozey, Post Malone, and her daughter, Blue Ivy, during various parts of the performance. Best of all — there were no streaming or buffering issues!

Sporting News has you covered with a recap of Beyonce’s star-studded halftime show during Ravens vs. Texans on Christmas.

Beyonce 2024 Christmas Day halftime show reviews, reactions

The MVP debate is over.

Logan Paul and Mike Tyson have got to be heated at the fact there has been practically no issues on Netflix today.

It doesn’t help that the game was a blowout, but they aren’t wrong.

In case you missed the show, this summed it up.

Game recognize game. From one GOAT to another.

Beyonce halftime show updates from 2024 NFL Christmas performance

All times ET.

6:20 p.m. — Beyonce got onto a platform and was lifted into the air. Under the stage, a banner saying “Bang” was revealed. This was her send-off, so the Queen stuck to the album and didn’t sing any Christmas songs.

6:19 p.m. — Beyonce got back on stage and performed ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ live for the first time since releasing the track.

6:18 p.m. — After singing with Post Malone, she sang ‘Jolene.’

6:17 p.m. — Beyonce then goes to a different part of the field where there is a truck. On the tailgate is Post Malone and they sing ‘Levii’s Jeans.’

6:15 p.m. — Beyonce transitions next into ‘My House’ briefly and is joined by Shaboozey. The duo sang a mashup of ‘Spaghetti’, ‘Riiverdance’, and ‘Sweet, honey, buckiin”

Beyonce also dances with daughter Blue Ivy who has apparently grown into a whole adolescent. Where has the time gone??

6:14 p.m. — Once on the stage, Beyonce sings ‘Ya Ya.’

6:13 p.m. — Beyonce then dismounts the horse and continues singing with “Blackbiird.” She is wearing all white including a large white Cowboy hat. The video then transitions into her being live and she showed up on the stage.

6:09 p.m. — The Beyonce Bowl is here. It starts with a video playing. Queen B is shown riding a horse and singing “16 Carriages.”

6:05 p.m. — Initially I predicted that Beyonce’s show would start at 6 p.m. ET. We are a little behind there, BUT the queen is coming. The first half of the game is in the books and now it is Beyonce o’clock as soon as the stage gets set up.

5:55 p.m. — It looks like Beyonce’s supporting cast and set will be adorned in all white. While Queen B will put on a great show regardless, it feels like this is going to be a spectacle.

5:47 p.m. — We have made it to the two minute warning. There will be a brief stoppage, two minutes left of gameplay and then Beyonce. I think she could be performing by 6, but again, better to not risk it.

5:32 p.m. — I know I said tune back in at 5:35, but this game has slowed down immensely, hence why it is so hard to predict when the Queen will start. There is still 10 minutes left in the second quarter. Check back in at 5:45 p.m.

5:15 p.m. — The first quarter ended right around 5:10 p.m. ET. It took about 30 minutes to get through the first quarter. I still think playing it safe for Beyonce you’ll want to turn the game back on around 5:35 p.m. ET.

5 p.m. — In one of the promos for the show, there was a planned buffer. It was followed by a wink from Beyonce. This was a bold move to take with Netflix’s buffering issues in the past, but was hilarious with the wink from the music icon.

4:37 p.m. — The game is underway at 4:37 p.m. ET. With both of these teams liking running the ball, the first half clock may move quickly. If you are just wanting to tune in for Beyonce, to be safe you should probably turn the game back on at 5:30 or check back with this blogs as I provide updates on the end of the first quarter and throughout the second quarter.

4:18 p.m. — The first game is wrapped and now all eyes are on the upcoming Beyonce concert, I mean the Ravens-Texans game. Definitely the game.

There was a time on the pre-game show that suggested the second game will kickoff closer to 4:35, so this one may start a little late.

Beyonce halftime show start time

  • 6 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. CT (approximate)

We don’t know when Beyonce’s halftime show will begin. The Ravens vs. Texans game is scheduled to kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET, and Beyonce’s show will begin at halftime of that game. Expect it to start approximately 6 p.m. ET.

The NFL may choose to delay kickoff for the second game slightly to ensure viewers are able to go from watching the end of one, to the start of another.

Baltimore and Houston both rely on their run games on offense. When this happens, the game tends to speed up. Because we can’t predict exactly when the show will begin, you will likely want to tune in during the second quarter, or around 5:30 p.m. ET to ensure you don’t miss it.

How long is the NFL Christmas halftime show?

We don’t officially know. Typically, NFL halftimes run 12 to 14 minutes. The Super Bowl halftime show is a spectacle and is given 20 to 25 minutes to run. TMZ reported that Beyonce would be given an extended halftime show, but then her publicist said that the artists will not be playing for 20 minutes.

Our best guess is that with stage setup, the performance and stage breakdown is that the entire halftime has been given a 20 minute window. We expect Beyonce will perform for about 12-15 minutes, similar to the NFL halftime shows on Thanksgiving.
