Best Gregg Popovich moments resurface after latest announcement

It is the end of an era for the San Antonio Spurs. On Friday, it was revealed that Gregg Popovich is stepping away from coaching and transitioning to a front-office role.

The longtime head coach suffered a mild stroke in November and stepped away again from the sidelines in February. Now, Mitch Johnson takes over as Spurs head coach, and Popovich walks away as the winningest coach in NBA history.

Reactions came pouring in left and right, and there is no secret what type of influence Popovich had in many involved in the game of basketball.

He has five NBA titles to his name, three NBA Coach of the Year awards, and has coached players such as Steve Kerr, Kawhi Leonard, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and too many others to count.

After the news came, the Popovich memories started to recirculate.

During his long career, Popovich was never short of having a hilarious moment, whether it be an interview, a sideline interaction, or an embrace with a coach after the game.

Here are some of the best Popovich moments for one of the most unique men to ever be associated with the NBA.
