Dallas star Micah Parsons sent shockwaves through the NFL on Friday with a public trade request posted to social media.
As a result, Dallas should expect several teams to call to inquire about the All-Pro pass rusher. The Penn State product has racked up 52.5 sacks and 256 tackles over four seasons, solidifying his status as one of the league’s elite defensive talents.
The Chicago Bears should have Parsons on their radar, as they can take advantage of having Caleb Williams on a rookie deal. Moreover, The Athletic see Chicago as one of three teams that could make a trade for Parsons. Kevin Fishbain made the case of what the Bears can give up to land Parsons, which will be a lot of draft capital.
Bears get: Parsons, 2027 fourth-round pick, and 2027 seventh-round pick
Cowboys get: 2026 first-round pick, 2027 first-round pick, 2027 third-round pick, and 2027 sixth-round pick
“Tongue firmly planted in cheek here, especially with the specifics of this offer, because the salary-cap space isn’t in an ideal spot for this, but the synergy is too fun to ignore,” Fishbain wrote. “The last time the Bears had a first-year head coach, second-year quarterback, veteran defense and coordinator and a general manager fresh off a contract extension, they traded for Khalil Mack.
“And that season is their only division title since 2010! This offer is the same as Mack, but the Bears get a fourth-round pick back instead of a second. Why not do it again?”

Furthermore, Chicago are looking to have a vaunted defense again and have already spent alot of money signing quality players along the defensive line. Parsons could be the cherry on top, leading the group and taking the Bears, who finished last in the NFC North last season, to first place.
“They’ve already invested a lot of money in the defensive line (Montez Sweat, Dayo Odeyingbo and Grady Jarrett),” Fishbain added. “They could stand to be a little more patient and let QB Caleb Williams grow into this offense as opposed to forgoing so much draft capital to kick off the Ben Johnson era. Then again, if Johnson thinks they’re a Micah Parsons away …”
If Chicago are able to replicate the Mack situation, then the rest of the quarterbacks in the NFC North will have to be on alert when they face the Bears.
