Bears predicted to add 6-interception star to boost the defense

The Chicago Bears are looking forward to the 2025 season because the team is ready to win now.

Last year, Chicago took quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick, and now, this season, the team has hired Ben Johnson as their new head coach.

While the Bears have all their eyes on this upcoming season, it’s never too early to look towards the future, and Brentley Weissman from Pro Football Network predicts the Bears will draft Oregon safety Dillon Thieneman in a 2026 Mock Draft.

“Dillon Thieneman is an athletic and rangy safety who excels in coverage. He possesses impressive ball skills and instincts and has been highly productive throughout his career at Purdue,” Weissman wrote. “Now, at Oregon, look for Thieneman to burst onto the national scene. The Bears’ defense has come along nicely, and they could use a playmaking defensive back to create big plays and turn the ball over.”

In 24 games, Thieneman has recorded six interceptions, meaning he knows how to play the ball, and that’s what the Bears defense needs.

2026 is still a year away, but if the Bears can land a top safety in next year’s draft, then the team could have one of the best defenses in football next season.
