Bears get surprising link to Jaire Alexander after Packers release

Jaire Alexander has made his money partially from shutting down Chicago wide receivers.

The two-time Pro Bowler has been with the Packers his entire career which entitles him to two games against the Bears each season.

Now that he’s left Green Bay that could all be a distant memory.

One Chicago wide receiver reacted to Alexander’s release on social media. Ironically, the Bears’ wideout has never faced the cornerback in a game.

Rookie wide receiver Luther Burden commented two words on an Instagram post that announced Alexander’s release.

Burden, who was drafted 39th overall in this year’s draft, said “Uh oh.”

It’s a cryptic reaction that could be taken in a variety of ways.

Burden could be saying this is a dangerous move for the Packers and will allow him and D.J. Moore to have more success against a weaker Green Bay secondary.

On the other hand, Burden could be warning the rest of the league that an asset is on the loose and there will be a scramble to acquire him.

There’s no conclusive answer to what it means, but it’s interesting just because of the bitter rivalry between the Bears and the Packers.

There’s also the third outcome where Burden wants Alexander to join the Bears to sure up the defense in Chicago.

It would be a wild move for the Green Bay lifer to join a division rival that would face his former team twice a year.

Hopefully Burden clarifies his comment for the sanity of both fanbases.
