Bayern Munich are off to a flying start to the 2025/26 campaign as they have won all of their first 10 competitive games under the able leadership of manager Vincent Kompany.
The Bavarians didn’t have the best transfer window and yet they have delivered great results whilst playing an ultra-aggressive attacking football.
Bayern Munich’s attacking quartet of Harry Kane, Michel Olise, Luis Diaz and Serge Gnabry have been on the forefront of this blistering start to the campaign.
While others were expected to deliver such consistent performances, there were less expectations from Gnabry, but he has proven his doubters wrong with some stellar performances.
The 30-year-old has not only taken his game to a certain level, but he has also delivered such performances whilst playing in a makeshift position, filling up for the injured Jamal Musiala in a number 10 role behind Kane.
However, Gnabry’s current contract with Bayern Munich is all set to expire next summer and the forward will be open to talk with other clubs from the January transfer window.

Recently, during his international duty with Germany, Gnabry addressed his contract issue at Bayern Munich as he is focused on his present performances.
“Nothing has changed about what I said last time. Right now, I’m focused on the national team. I’m not thinking about my future right now. At the end of the day, it’s up to the club to approach me. Whether that will happen or not, we’ll see. I’m just focused on playing well. And then what will happen will happen,” the Germany international told the reporters ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg.
His recent form for Bayern has helped him earn a starting spot for Germany under Julian Nagelsmann.
Why haven’t Bayern Munich negotiated a new deal with Gnabry?
Bayer Munich hierarchy and Kompany are extremely satisfied with Gnabry’s start to the 2025/26 season and though they value his present in Munich, they have reportedly taken a wait and watch approach to see if the 30-year-old manages to maintain this level of consistency or not.
Apart from his consistency, the Bavarians are also adamant in reducing their wage bill and therefore they will eventually offer a new deal to Gnabry but on a reduced terms as per an earlier report via BILD.
Gnabry, who is happy and content in Munich is reportedly ready to take a pay cut to continue his journey with the Bundesliga champions. He currently earns around €17-18m gross per year with bonuses.
His teammates, Kompany, the coaches and even members of the hierarchy are extremely impressed with Gnabry’s stellar performances this season as he has registered eight goal contributions in 10 games.
He has started in five out of six Bundesliga games this season returning with three goals and as many assists.
Interestingly, Bayern Munich are also eyeing a move for FC Koln youngster Said El Mala, who has had a great start to his debut Bundesliga campaign.
El Mala, who was part of the Germany U19 setup is a similar player to Gnabry and if the management decides to refresh their roster, they may push for the youngster’s signature next summer replacing the 30-year-old.
However, Bayern Munich may still offer a new deal to Gnabry considering he agrees to take a pay cut and continues to deliver top performances throughout the campaign.
