Bayern Munich have had a historic start to the 2025/26 season, winning 13 straight games under the tutelage of manager Vincent Kompany.
It has been a collective effort from the Bavarians who were not very highly rated heading into the season due to their underwhelming summer transfer window.
However, things have taken a drastic turn as Bayern Munich have shocked everyone with their performances this season and many as already hailing them as one of the favourites for this season’s Champions League crown.
One of the players responsible for this start has to be Harry Kane, who has led from the front with 20 goals and three assists from 13 games across all competitions.
Despite the 32-year-old’s exceptional form, Bayern Munich management are planning to add depth to the striker position.
According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich have added Hoffenheim starlet Fisnik Asllani to their striker’s shortlist.

Bayern Munich bosses Maximilian Eberl and Christoph Freund are big admirers of the Kosovo international, who has taken Bundesliga by storm on his debut campaign.
While the reigning Bundesliga champions are hopeful that Kane will continue with them for the next few years, they see Asllani as a part of their succession plan whilst adding depth to their striker position.
Overall, signing Asllani would highlight Bayern Munich’s long-term approach of securing young technically gifted players with extremely low risk as he has his best years ahead of him.
Amidst everything, the Bavarians remain positive in permanently signing Nicolas Jackson, who is currently on loan in Munich from Chelsea.
Why are Bayern Munich chasing Barcelona target?
Apart from Bayern Munich, Barcelona have also shown interested in Asllani, who has emerged as Hoffenheim’s most reliable goalscorer in his debut Bundesliga campaign.
He has raked up six goals and two assists in nine appearances across competitions this season and scouts from all over Europe have been impressed with his link-up play, goalscoring instincts and intelligent movements in the final third.

Therefore, the Blaugrana are looking at him as a long-term successor for Robert Lewandowski as he suits Hansi Flick’s style of play.
Asllani has benefitted a lot from his loan stints ahead of his Hoffenheim career as he was a prolific goalscorer during his youth career at BFC Dynamo and Union Berlin.
He replicated that form for Hoffenheim’s youth teams following his move to the club in 2020. Later, he was loaned out to Austria Wien in 2023 followed by another loan stint for SV Elversberg in the German second division where he proved himself by netted 19 goals in 37 matches last season.
He was instantly inducted into the first team and given his performances in preseason, he immediately became the main man for manager Christian Ilzer.
Given his performances, Hoffenheim signed a new contract with Asllani but reportedly that contract has a release clause well within the range of top European clubs.
So, it is highly unlikely that the 23-year-old will be at Hoffenheim next season given the amount of hype around his performances.
