Bayern Munich plotting a move to reunite Michael Olise with his former Crystal Palace teammate

Bayern Munich are looking to freshen up the roster in the summer transfer window. Manager Vincent Kompany wants to put up a greater challenge in the European competitions, and therefore, they are looking to add a few players in key positions.

The German champions have recently lost Florian Wirtz, who is reportedly close to joining Liverpool. Meanwhile, Leroy Sane may also leave the club after running out of contract and has failed to agree to new contract renewal terms.

Therefore, Bayern Munich have identified a few left-wing options in this market. Among several names, the Bavarians have stepped up their attention towards Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, as reported by Football Insider.

Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao are the other two names constantly getting linked with the German giants.

As per reports, Bayern management are extremely happy with the transfer of Michael Olise, who also moved to Bavaria from Selhurst Park and has left a great mark in his debut season in Germany.

So they are expecting the same with Eze and believe that reuniting the two wingers may be extremely fruitful for the Bavarians. The two have a natural understanding, and that would be an added benefit for the club.

Also, the report suggests that Bayern Munich already have a good connection with the London outfit. They will hope to use their relationship to good effect to lure away the England international.

Where could Eze land this summer?

It has been a splendid season for Crystal Palace as they won their first major trophy in the club’s history by winning the FA Cup final 1-0 over Manchester City. It was Eze who scored the solitary goal of the game.

Apart from Bayern, Tottenham Hotspur are another team interested in the England international. As per reports, Eze has a £68 million release clause in his current contract that runs until 2027.

Despite attracting interest from multiple clubs, Crystal Palace are keen to keep the 26-year-old at Selhurst Park. But if he decides to move out, Palace are firm with their pricetag and would not accept anything less than the release clause.

Eze is known for his ability to create chances with his exquisite dribbling. Apart from that, he has great vision and physicality to retain the ball up the field. He can play centrally right behind the striker and could also slot in on the left flank with aplomb.

He had a fruitful 2024/25 campaign, netting 10 goals and providing 11 assists from 38 appearances across competitions. Overall, his playing style would only elevate under Kompany, also his understanding with Olise could be a huge boost for the German giants.
