Bayern Munich sealed the 2024/25 Bundesliga crown at the start of May after holders Bayer Leverkusen were held to a draw by SC Freiburg. The Bavarians then lifted the prestigious shield after a 2-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach on May 10.
That success came as the first title the club had won under manager Vincent Kompany, and also the first career trophy for star striker Harry Kane.
The England international played a pivotal role in helping Bayern Munich reclaim the trophy after finishing third last season.
The 31-year-old is the favourite to clinch the Bundesliga top scorer award as the most consistent player for the new German champions.
However, to everyone’s shock, former Bayern Munich star midfielder and club legend Lothar Matthaus didn’t pick Kane in his 2024/25 Bundesliga Team of the Season.
He selected four Bayern Munich players, including Dayot Upamecano, Michael Olise, Joshua Kimmich and Jamal Musiala, but no Kane.

Matthaus picked Borussia Dortmund marksman Serhou Guirassy and ex-Eintracht Frankfurt forward Oman Marmoush as his strikers in the team for this term. However, both have lower goals per 90 metric than Kane.
Harry Kane’s exceptional numbers in 2024/25
Kane has hammered home 25 goals and provided seven assists in 30 Bundesliga games this season and leads the top scorer list, with Dortmund’s Guirassy in second spot with 20 goals, and other than a miracle, the Guinean will not steal the award from Kane.

If Kane wins the trophy, he will be the first player in Bundesliga history to claim the top scorer’s award in his first two seasons.
He won the award last year with 36 goals but couldn’t help Bayern Munich win the Bundesliga.
Kane will most probably finish with the highest goal involvements this season in the Bundesliga. His tally of 32 goal involvements, which include seven assists, is currently the highest.
Bayern Munich haven’t lost a league game in which Kane has started. With Kane in the starting XI, the German champions have won 22 matches and drawn six.
As per Statmuse, Kane has registered 0.94 goals/90 minutes. Only Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick, with 1.04 goals/90, is higher than him in the 2024/25 Bundesliga. However, Guirassy with 0.72 and Marmoush with 0.93 have lower goals/90 stats than him.
