Barcelona’s next big signing? Two superstar forwards linked to summer transfer

Barcelona are reportedly considering a major attacking signing in the summer transfer window. With their front line already among the best in Europe, club officials are looking ahead to the future.

The Catalan giants have scored 64 goals in 23 La Liga matches this season under Hansi Flick. Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski lead the attack when fit.

However, with Lewandowski turning 37 in August, Barcelona may need a long-term replacement.

Financial issues have troubled the club, but they remain ambitious in the transfer market. Reports suggest that Barcelona are keeping an eye on two high-profile forwards to strengthen their squad for next season.

Who are Barcelona targeting?

According to Sport, Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak are the two names under consideration.

Gyokeres has been in sensational form for Sporting Lisbon, scoring 77 goals and providing 22 assists in just 85 matches. He could be available for a fee between £60m and £70m this summer.

Barcelona may try to leverage their relationship with Sporting, especially since they still hold a 50% stake in Francisco Trincao’s future sale.

Additionally, Sporting is reportedly interested in Barcelona’s Vitor Roque, who is currently on loan at Real Betis.

While Gyokeres seems like a more realistic target, Isak’s case is different. The Swedish forward has been a key player for Newcastle, netting 48 goals in 74 Premier League games.

However, Newcastle would demand over £100m for his transfer, making it difficult for Barcelona given their financial struggles.

With Premier League clubs monitoring Gyokeres and Newcastle keen to keep Isak, Barcelona will need to act quickly if they want to secure a new superstar forward.
