Barcelona willing to offload La Masia star as asking price revealed amid Chelsea interest

Barcelona are looking to offload some of their players as they look to free up funds to address their financial constraints.

The Catalans haven’t managed to sign Nico Williams after his agent demanded a registration guarantee. The Spanish winger is still keen to join Barcelona, but the La Liga champions need to fix their situation first.

Due to these concerns, Barcelona have changed their stance on certain players. They are willing to hear offers for Fermin Lopez, and now the La Masia midfielder Marco Casado also joins the list.

As per recent updates via SPORT, Barcelona have set a €50m asking price for Casado as Chelsea show interest in the young midfielder.

The 21-year-old, who has seen limited gametime last season, could move on from Camp Nou. Barcelona are open to acknowledging that they have a surplus of midfield options.

Casado featured in 35 appearances for Barcelona last season, scoring a solitary goal and providing six assists across competitions.

Where could Casado land this summer?

Casado recently signed a new contract with Barcelona as the Catalans rewarded him for his talent and skillset. His new contract runs until 2028.

But Barcelona are open to selling the youngster if their demand is met and the player agrees to join the club.

The Blaugrana are aware of Chelsea’s interest in the 21-year-old as he fits the profile in Enzo Maresca’s system.

However, it is unclear if they are willing to meet Barcelona’s demand, having already spent big bucks in the summer transfer window on Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro.

Barcelona, currently are keen to extend Frenkie De Jong’s contract as he is the leader in midfield. Also, Marc Bernal has emerged as a starter before he got sidelined.

They also have players like Gavi, Pedri, Dani Olmo and Fermin in other midfield roles.

Casado has a release clause of €100 million and broke into the starting eleven last season in De Jong’s absence. However, he dropped down the pecking order following the Dutchman’s return from injury.
