Barcelona are once again digging deep to stay afloat financially — this time by cashing in on one of their rising talents.
The club has reportedly agreed to sell 18-year-old center-back Eman Kospo to Serie A side Fiorentina, with the deal nearly complete (via Football Italia).
It’s a familiar theme at Camp Nou these days: success on the pitch, scramble off it.
The Catalan giants might have lifted three domestic trophies last season, but behind the scenes, it’s more of a high-stakes balancing act than tiki-taka football.
Kospo, Barca’s La Masia academy star, made 12 appearances for the Under-19 team last season, including three in the UEFA Youth League.
While the club is known for giving young stars a chance, this move seems to be more about money than minutes.

Fiorentina have been tracking the Swiss defender for months and are now set to snap him up for under €1 million. The deal also includes a sell-on clause — Barcelona making sure they don’t completely lose out if Kospo shines in Italy.
This will be Fiorentina’s second defensive signing this summer after bringing in Mattia Viti. They’re rebuilding under new boss Stefano Pioli, and Kospo will be hoping to earn a shot at first-team football — something that felt like a long wait at Barcelona.
While the Catalan club has projected revenues of over €1 billion next season, they’re still constrained by La Liga’s financial rules.
The pressure to offload players — whether seasoned pros or teenage hopefuls — remains high.
Club president Joan Laporta earlier said, “First we have to assess what we have, and then we’ll reinforce some positions.”
Clearly, that assessment includes difficult goodbyes — even to players yet to make their senior debut.
