Barcelona have had a quiet summer in the aspects of summer signings. They’ve brought in Joan Garcia, Marcus Rashford, and Roony Bardghji.
Now it seems that they may be looking to make one more signing and it would be an interesting one.
They are linked to Cameroonian striker and Villarreal talent, Karl Etta Eyong.
Etta Eyong to Barcelona?
Etta Eyong is 21-years-old and has barely had any matches in the first division level. He came up through the Cadiz academy before moving to the Villarreal B team and made his La Liga debut this season.
He managed to score in his debut and has impressed with his physical gifts, his speed, and seems to have a ton of potential.
It seems like Barcelona have paid attention to his potential as Sport reports that the Catalan giants are looking to activate the player’s release clause. The release clause is rumored to be between 5-10 million euros which is a very good market opportunity.
Barcelona would be looking to buy the player and then loan him out to another La Liga side to avoid any financial or registration problems.
Eyong would be a great market opportunity as he could be a future Lewandowski replacement or be flipped for a bigger fee.
Barcelona aren’t the only ones interested in the 21-year-old with reportedly half the league inquiring about him and interest from Premier League clubs.
Villarreal wouldn’t want to let the youngster go, but if a club pays his release clause they won’t be able to do anything.
As for Barcelona, this would be a great signing and a real no lose scenario for the club.
