Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry did what in high school?

Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry is an absolute stud. There really is no doubting that. The 31-year-old who played with the Alabama Crimson Tide was the 45th overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft. Without looking, there is absolutely zero chance that there were 44 players better than him. There likely was not one.

Derrick Henry continues to absolutely dominate in the National Football League. The guy does not seem to age. Henry is going to surpass 12,000 rushing yards this season, and he has 107 career rushing touchdowns in the NFL.

This is his 10th season in the National Football League. So, nine full seasons, and the one game on Sunday Night Football.

Why does that matter? In nine seasons, Derrick Henry STILL has not surpassed his rushing numbers from high school. Wait, what?

Derrick Henry played 48 games in high school, rushed 1,397 times, picked up 12,124 rushing yards, and scored 153 touchdowns. That is in FOUR seasons in high school. That’s 38 touchdowns per season.

In his senior season, he scored 55 touchdowns in 13 games. He averaged FOUR touchdowns PER game his senior season. That is flat-out incredible.

Even as a freshman, which means he was likely 14-15 years old, he still rushed for 2,465 yards in 11 games, and averaged 2+ touchdowns per game.

At some point, we will no longer be able to enjoy Derrick Henry playing in the National Football League. But, until then, let’s enjoy how dominant and brilliant he is, and even more so how eye-popping his numbers were in high school.

The last question: Why did the Tennessee Titans get rid of him again?
