Atletico Madrid set to decide Conor Gallagher’s future after Premier League rumor

As the summer transfer window closure is just a week away, many clubs in Europe will attempt to make signings, while others will look to make departures. Atletico Madrid may attempt another deal this summer, but a departure will make it easier for the club to sign a new player.

One of the players that have been rumored to leave the club is English midfielder Conor Gallagher. He joined the club last year from Chelsea, but he can make his return to the Premier League after an approach from his former club, Crystal Palace.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Crystal Palace approached Atletico Madrid to sign Gallagher on loan. The midfielder already played for Palace on loan during the 2021-22 season. Gallagher played 39 games with Palace, where he scored eight goals and provided five assists.

There are reported talks between Crystal Palace and Atletico Madrid for the loan deal to go through, but the Spanish club needs to decide.

Atletico Madrid Leaning Towards Not Letting Conor Gallagher Go

According to Marca, Atletico Madrid is not considering selling or loaning out Conor Gallagher this summer. The report suggests that the English midfielder will be pivotal for Atletico Madrid this season.

Gallagher played 47 matches across all competitions with Atletico Madrid last season. He scored four goals and provided six assists.

Gallagher played in the first two La Liga games of the new season with Atleti, but only one of them as a starter. In the first game against Espanyol, Gallagher played the first 45 minutes and was substituted out for Koke.

In the second game, Gallagher came on against Elche in the 68th minute to replace Thiago Almada
