Astros linked to $6.25 million Gold Glove to join Yordan Alvarez in the outfield

Right now, the Houston Astros have a lot to think about. They had a great team, yet they still missed the playoffs due to a horrible collapse.

They need to make a move to put themselves at the top of the AL West once again. Fansided’s Christopher Kline believes they can by pursuing Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Harrison Bader.

“Bader has a history of high highs and low lows, but he’s clearly a talented individual who can meaningfully move the needle for a contender. Houston dealt with a talent shortage in the outfield all season…Houston can plug Bader into the lineup as an everyday vacuum cleaner in centerfield and a potential leadoff bat. At worst, he’s a solid back-end hitter and five-tool contributor with especially strong production against lefties…The Astros need the outfield depth, plain and simple,” Kline wrote.

This season, Bader slashed .277/.347/.449/.796 with 17 home runs and 54 RBI in 146 games. He provides reliability, consistent offense, and a Gold Glove in the outfield.

He would be a great center fielder for the team, and pairing him with Cam Smith, Yordan Alvarez, and Jake Meyers, the Astros could have one of the best outfields in the MLB.

Hopefully, the Astros get in contact with Bader as soon as the offseason starts, as he could be the first step in putting themselves back in the postseason.
