Aston Villa are looking to make several moves in the transfer market after spending most of the summer not filling the gossip pages.
The club were expected to sell a host of key players due to profit and sustainability rules (PSR), but have avoided that scenario, in a real show of stability at Villa Park.
That has granted Unai Emery the freedom to rebuild his squad with vital additions instead of making difficult sacrifices over his current stars.
Villa quietly brought in Dutch goalkeeper Marco Bizot along with teenage midfielder Zepiqueno Redmond to add depth ahead of the 2025/26 campaign start.
The squad still requires additional firepower, particularly after Marcus Rashford’s return to Manchester United, following a brief loan spell from the Red Devils last season.
However, with no permanent agreement in place, the manager is now seeking a long-term option to strengthen the wing position.

As part of a patient strategy to highlight the right players, the club believe they’ve identified someone who fills a pressing role, and who could be a long-term star in Emery’s ranks.
Aston Villa turn attention to Man United outcast
Villa have started talks to explore a deal for Alejandro Garnacho, according to a report from Daily Mail, as he looks to leave Old Trafford.
The Argentina winger scored 11 goals and delivered 10 assists in 58 appearances across all competitions last year.
Despite his output, Garnacho has not convinced Ruben Amorim of his value, and the Portuguese boss wants to offload him and Rashford before the new season kicks off.
Amorim has already decided the 21-year-old is not part of his plans and is willing to let him go if a suitable offer arrives.
Villa see a chance to sign a player who still has rough edges, but massive potential under good coaching, and Emery is known for turning raw talent into consistent operators – and Garnacho could follow that same path.
Napoli and Chelsea are also keeping tabs on the winger, but Villa hope to move first and fast, to avoid being dragged into a bidding war.
They are also chasing young Toulouse defender Jaydee Canvot and eyeing Nicolas Jackson if Ollie Watkins ends up leaving in August.
