Ashton Jeanty has intriguing response to Raiders draft rumors

Ashton Jeanty is the top running back prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft class, as the 21-year-old had one of the greatest college football seasons of all time in 2024 and will be an impact player in his rookie year.

Jeanty is a projected first-round pick and will have many teams vying for his services, but one franchise that has been constantly linked to the generational talent is the Las Vegas Raiders. The team is in desperate need of a game-changer at running back, and they likely won’t be in the quarterback market after acquiring Geno Smith from the Seattle Seahawks. The Raiders currently hold the No.6 overall pick in the draft.

Jeanty to Las Vegas rumors intensified on Thursday after new Raiders general manager John Spytek and running backs coach Deland McCullough attended the former Boise State superstar’s Pro Day.

During an interview at his Pro Day, Jeanty spoke about the possibility of landing with the Raiders in April’s draft, and he had a smile on his face when talking about the team.

“Great organization,” Jeanty told reporters when asked about the Raiders. “They got a few pieces. I know they could use a running back. They got that nice pick No. 6 so we’ll see what happens. But it’s been great meeting with them, meeting with their running backs coach. It’s cool that he came all this way to meet with me.”

It’s clear that Las Vegas has Jeanty listed as a strong candidate to be their Round 1 draft choice in 2025, but it also looks like the Jacksonville native would love to be a Raider. Jeanty would immediately fill one of the franchise’s biggest needs, and his superstar potential and game-breaking ability are just too good to pass on.

Obviously, taking a running back in top 10 is incredibly risky, but Ashton Jeanty is arguably the most talented player in the draft and would be a dynamic addition to the Raiders’ offense.
