Arsenal have been extremely active in the summer transfer window but apart from signing new players, the Gunners are also keen to hold onto their best players. Therefore, they are looking to extend contracts of their star performers.
Star defender Gabriel Magalhaes has become the latest player to have signed a new contract with the Gunners. He has signed a fresh four-year-contract which will keep him at North London until 2029.
The centre-back joined Arsenal back in 2020 and since then, he has developed into one of the best defenders in the Premier League. He has also developed a great understanding with fellow defender William Saliba at the heart of the Arsenal backline.
However, he got injured ahead of the business end of last season and the Gunners missed him dearly, especially in the Champions League semifinals against Paris Saint-Germain. Interestingly, Arsenal won only three out of the last eight Premier League games where he was sidelined.
The Brazil international has already featured in 210 appearances for the North London outfit. His big physical stature makes him a threat from set pieces and therefore he has also scored 20 goals, more than any other Arsenal defender.
Gabriel was easily one of the best players for Arsenal last season and Mikel Arteta will be delighted to tie him down for the foreseeable future.

Currently, Gabriel is recovering from a hamstring injury, and the 27-year-old should be fit to start the 2025/26 season as Arteta aims to win major trophies.
