Arsenal have accelerated their activity in the summer transfer window as they are keen to make a key addition to the forwardline. They are already looking to sign a new striker and a winger.
Among many options, the Gunners were also linked with Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who is coming off a career-best campaign in the Premier League. Therefore, he has attracted interest from many clubs.
However, as per recent reports via The Athletic suggest that Mbuemo has prioritised a move to Manchester United over Arsenal and other clubs.
Interestingly, United desperately need players in attack after Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee’s struggles with scoring goals last season. Therefore, they were after Mbuemo, and it looks like the 25-year-old is also keen to join the Red Devils.
After finishing 16th in the Premier League points table, Ruben Amorim is eager to make wholesale changes to the roster as he aims to improve the results in the upcoming season.
The Red Devils have already bolstered their attack by signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million transfer fee. Now, United are keen to snap up the signing of Mbuemo as they lead the race for the versatile winger.

How much could Brentford charge for Mbuemo?
It is understood that Brentford are powerless about the Mbuemo situation. The 25-year-old has seen the highs and lows at the club and was a part of the Brentford team that got promoted to the Premier League in 2021. But with only a year remaining in his contract, the Bees are forced to cash in on him this summer.

Brentford reportedly have slapped a price tag in the region of £ 40-50 million. Since the player has made up his mind, now the clubs will hold talks and aim to reach an agreement as soon as possible.
This was Mbuemo’s fourth consecutive season in the Premier League, and in terms of output, this was by far the best for the 25-year-old. He netted 20 goals and provided seven assists.
Only the likes of Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak scored more goals than Mbuemo in the English top flight.
