Arsenal star drops image of sensational physical transformation amid new striker links

Arsenal are desperately looking to sign a prolific goalscorer as Mikel Arteta believe that his team lacked goals as they finished second in the Premier League for three consecutive seasons.

They are currently linked with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres. As per reports sporting director Andrea Berta is working on both the deals as he believes in laying foundation for several moves before eventually deciding to close in on one.

At this point it is unclear which of the two strikers will land at the Emirates, but Berta reportedly prefers a move for Gyokeres, who has been banging goals in Portugal and could be a ‘win now’ option for Arsenal. Whereas Arteta reportedly wants to secure Sesko, who has shown great signs for his age but is someone who will develop into a superstar striker.

However, amidst all the chaos, Kai Havertz’s Instagram post grabbed a lot of attention among fans. The German forward is expected to have an added competition in attack for the upcoming season as Arsenal are chasing a high-profile striker.

Havertz had a decent campaign, but it was cut short due to his injury, and he missed the final three months of the season. He still finished as Arsenal’s leading goalscorer with 15 goals and nine of those goals came in the Premier League.

Despite him missing action for three months, no one in the Arsenal roster managed to outscore him last season. It is one of the major reasons why they failed to compete with Liverpool in the Premier League title race.

What did Havertz say in his social media post?

Although, Havertz scored consistently when he was fit, fans were not happy with the German’s output as he missed a lot of big chances. Things escalated even further when Gabriel Jesus also got ruled out and the onus was on the 25-year-old to step up in each and every game until his body gave up.

The German international return to fitness in mid-May, a few months before his scheduled return. he is now gearing up to travel to Hong Kong and Singapore for pre-season in the upcoming month.

He posted a few pictures of him sweating it out in the gym. He has clearly bulked up a lot and was lifting weights in a couple of images. He captioned the post “Loading” signifying his readiness to step on the field again for the North Londoners and it comes at a time when Arsenal are getting linked with a few strikers in the transfer market.

In the upcoming season, it will be a challenge for the 25-year-old to adjust with another player in his position. But given his qualities of linking-up play, facilitating the wingers and also carrying the ball up the field, Havertz is someone who is extremely multifaceted and can play in other roles with aplomb.

His capabilities with the ball will allow Arteta to change his formation and play the new striker alongside Havertz whilst going three at the back. Overall, the German forward has indicated that he is ready for the new season and also for the upcoming challenges.
