That latest setback has nudged Kompany towards Trossard, who has under a year remaining on his Arsenal contract.
Trossard faces competition from Gabriel Martinelli for a starting spot and Madueke’s addition could see the Belgian side even further down the pecking order.
Trossard, who moved to Arsenal in 2023, wants regular playing time, and a move away could provide him with just that.
