Arsenal’s pre-season plans have been handed a timely boost with Cristhian Mosquera now en route to join the squad in Singapore.
The 21-year-old defender is expected to link up with Mikel Arteta’s team ahead of their friendly against AC Milan on Wednesday.
Though the club is yet to officially confirm the signing, Mosquera has already said his goodbyes at Valencia and has been granted permission to travel.
According to reports (via BBC Sport), the deal is close to completion, and the player will now join the Gunners for the rest of their Asia tour.
Mosquera’s arrival will be a welcome addition to Arteta’s squad, especially with new signing Noni Madueke unavailable due to Club World Cup commitments.
The Spain U21 international played nearly every minute for Valencia in La Liga last season, showing reliability and fitness — two things Arsenal could use at the back.

New arrivals joining Arsenal squad for Singapore pre-season
Mosquera isn’t the only new face joining the Gunners this summer. Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, and Christian Norgaard have already boarded the flight to Singapore.
The club is also reportedly pushing ahead in talks for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres. Mosquera, who can play both center-back and right-back, adds depth to a defense that recently lost Takehiro Tomiyasu.
With William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes still key figures, competition for places will only make the backline stronger.
Arsenal face a busy schedule in Asia, starting with Milan on Wednesday and Newcastle on Sunday — both games at Singapore’s National Stadium.
The tour continues in Hong Kong with a clash against rivals Tottenham before the team returns to London.
It’s all heating up nicely for Arteta’s side. And with Mosquera landing soon, the defense is about to get some Spanish spice.
