Arsenal are quietly building one of the most ambitious transfer windows in recent memory and their latest focus is on Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, whose creativity and technical brilliance have turned heads at the Emirates.
According to The Independent, the North London club are preparing a smart offer that would see them pay £60m [$81m] in three equal instalments, giving them a way to sign Eze without having to sell a major player this summer or breach the Premier League’s strict profit and sustainability rules.
Mikel Arteta entered the window with a tight budget that was initially set aside for two key signings – a midfielder and a striker, along with a few low-cost additions like Christian Norgaard from Brentford.
Spanish international Martin Zubimendi has already been signed from Real Sociedad, while negotiations with Sporting Lisbon for striker Viktor Gyokeres are ongoing despite the Portuguese club insisting on a £70m [$94m] package.
But Arsenal’s willingness to pursue Eze even under financial constraints shows just how highly they rate the 27-year-old playmaker.
Eze, who is under contract at Selhurst Park until 2027, has a release clause believed to be in the region of £60m plus bonuses, but Arsenal are aiming to bypass that with a deal structured to match Palace’s internal payment system.

Liverpool also interested but Eze favors Arsenal
While Arsenal work on the finer details of the offer, Liverpool remain quietly interested in the England international and may enter the race if talks stall.
However, reportedly, Eze is fully open to joining Arteta’s side and if a club-to-club agreement is reached in the coming days, personal terms are unlikely to cause problems since Eze is believed to favor the Emirates move.
