It is an open secret now that Arsenal will be signing a new striker in this summer transfer window. The Gunners believe that they need someone who can score goals in volume.
The North London outfit have shortlisted some of the popular strikers available in the market and will be looking to lure one of them to Emirates Stadium.
As per recent reports from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have held initial concrete talks with RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko. The Gunners have had a long-standing wish to land the striker, and after failing to do so last season, they are back for him again.
As per reports, Sesko is someone whom Mikel Arteta rates very highly and therefore they approached Leipzig in January, only to see their bid get rejected. Later, he also signed a fresh four-year contract with Leipzig.
However, things changed drastically when Leipzig failed to qualify for the Champions League next season, and therefore, Sesko may leave the Bundesliga outfit this summer.
The 21-year-old has all the attributes needed in a prolific goalscorer. He also had a decent campaign with Leipzig, netting 21 goals and providing six assists in 45 matches across all competitions.

How much is Sesko’s asking price?
Leipzig have recently signed a contract with the striker, and they are in no hurry to sell him. Therefore, as per reports via Telegraph, they are demanding a whopping £92.5 million for the talented forward.
However, the Bundesliga outfit is open to negotiation and Arsenal will hope to get the deal done in the region of £60-70 million. If they manage to bring the price down, then it could be a good deal for someone who can solve their problems in attack for more than a decade.
Apart from Sesko, Arsenal have been linked with Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres and Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez. But at this moment, Sesko feels like the most realistic target.
It is highly unlikely that someone of Alvarez’s calibre would be available only after a solitary season at Atletico Madrid. Meanwhile, Gyokeres may be available for a lot less than Sesko, but the Slovenian is five years younger and could be a long-term fix for the North London outfit.
