Arsenal are planning a massive summer transfer window, intending to improve their roster for the next season. According to Mikel Arteta, they desperately need attacking reinforcements.
Therefore, the Gunners are monitoring a winger and a prolific striker in the transfer market.
They are reportedly planning a big move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo Goes. The Brazilian is a big part of Arsenal’s transfer strategy this summer, as there are possibilities of him leaving the club.
A couple of days ago, Real Madrid had set an €80 million (£67.5m) price tag for the 24-year-old, who is reportedly unsettled. According to some reports, Rodrygo doesn’t feel appreciated enough since Kylian Mbappe’s arrival.
Also, he allegedly believes that he has gone down the pecking order in Madrid and has been overshadowed by Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr.
Apart from Arsenal, Chelsea were also interested in the Brazilian and started monitoring him to know his situation.

But fresh reports via Football Insider suggest that the Blues have retracted from the deal as their focus remains on signing a proper number 9.
Where could Rodrygo end up this summer?
While Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has confirmed Arsenal’s interest in the Brazilian, as the Gunners have already begun talks to land the winger this summer.
However, as per reports via Real Madrid Confidencial, Rodrygo is waiting for Xabi Alonso to take charge of the club officially before taking any drastic career decision.
He reportedly still wants to fight for his place in Madrid, but if Alonso tells him that he is not in his plans, then Rodrygo will move away from Santiago Bernabeu.
Recently, when Arteta was asked about Rodrygo links, he remained tight lipped, just stating they need players who can score goals and add creativity to the team.
“I won’t name any specific player, but we have brought the club into a position that next season, you have to win a major trophy,” Arteta told the reporters ahead of the Southampton game.
“We have to add goals, creativity, and we have to add numbers, and that will be in different positions”.
Rodrygo could be an asset for Arsenal if he decides to move to North London. The 24-year-old can play anywhere in attack, he is great with the ball and an excellent dribbler. He is a proven talent, who has won plenty of accolades with Madrid and scored goals in some of the toughest games.
