The 2024/25 Premier League campaign has come to an end and the early signs point to a busy summer transfer window at Arsenal
However, it will not just be big-name arrivals expected to land at the Emirates Stadium, with Mikel Arteta already confirming four squad departures including veteran midfielder Jorginho.
The Italy international joined the Gunners in 2023 from rivals Chelsea, and as a popular figure in the dressing room, his exit has triggered an emotional farewell from the squad.
The 33-year-old posted a long, heartfelt farewell message on his social media accounts, thanking Arsenal and the fans.
He also posted a goodbye video, sharing his highlights at Arsenal, to which teammate William Saliba responded with: “Thank you for everything brother!”
Although he was in North London for just over two years, his injury absence was felt by Arteta this season, and his experience was missing in the centre of Arsenal’s midfield.

“Pleasure to play with you brother!” added England star Declan Rice.
Where will Jorginho go this summer?
As per multiple reports, Brazilian outfit Flamengo approached Arsenal to sign Jorginho ahead of the 2024/25 season, but Arteta rejected their offer.
After several attempts to secure him, Flamengo opted to wait for his contract to run out in June, and an agreement over a pre-contract was wrapped up in February.
As per reports via Fabrizio Romano, he will join Flamengo on a three-year deal in time to play at the upcoming Club World Cup in the USA.
