Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard to sue media outlets after wedding chaos

It was supposed to be a picture-perfect wedding weekend for Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard.

But instead of just posing for photos, he’s now preparing for a courtroom showdown. As per the Daily Mail, the Norwegian midfielder is now set to take legal action against two media outlets following a chaotic incident at his recent wedding celebration in Oslo.

The Gunners star tied the knot with his partner Helene Spilling in a grand ceremony, months after their official marriage in November.

The couple had recently welcomed a baby boy, and this weekend’s event was meant to be a joyous celebration with family, friends, and a few Arsenal teammates. But things took a dramatic turn just as the guests were leaving.

According to reports, a photographer from Se og Hør, a Norwegian magazine, was forcibly removed from the venue by security guards.

The incident, which unfolded outside Gjerdrum Church, shocked many guests, including Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz, who were present with their partners.

What happened in Martin Odegaard’s wedding

The magazine’s photographer, Andreas Fadum, was covering the event when he was dragged away by security staff. Se og Hør reacted strongly, saying in a statement: “He was in a public place to cover a public event. They had no right to block off the parking lot or the area around the church. The matter will therefore be reported to the police.”

The Norwegian Editors’ Association echoed those concerns, calling the use of force “very serious” and promising support to the magazine.

Odegaard, meanwhile, is taking legal steps of his own. His lawyers have accused Se og Hør and newspaper Dagbladet of violating his privacy, especially over an article describing his UK home and publishing photos of it.

Editor Niklas Kokkin-Thoresen responded by saying he would not remove the content, but took the complaint with “stoic calm.”

While Arsenal’s No. 8 will soon return to the pitch, his off-field battle seems far from over. Let’s just say this summer has turned out to be less “I do” and more “see you in court.”
