Bayern Munich face a vital call over the future of winger Leroy Sane, as he heads into the final month of his contract, and can leave the club for free in July.
The Germany international was close to agreeing new contract terms in Bavaria, but after changing his agency and joining with Pini Zahavi, Sane and Bayern haven’t been on the same page in terms of a renewal.
There’s a high possibility of the 29-year-old moving on with transfer expert Christian Falk claiming Sane is close to a Premier League return.
Falk has hinted at Arsenal already holding talks with Zahavi over a potential deal, but Tottenham are also in the mix to secure his signature.
Sane is familiar with the Premier League – via his four seasons with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City – with a final tally of 135 matches and 39 goals.
He returned to the Bundesliga in 2020 as Bayern Munich came calling and in five years, he’s featured in 220 games for the German giants winning four Bundesliga titles, two DFL Supercups plus a UEFA Super Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup.

Where could Sane end up this summer?
Arsenal are keen to add attacking reinforcements to their roster. Mikel Arteta is still chasing Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, but the Sane contract impasse could change things, as he weighs up a chance to snap up the German on a free transfer.
If Sane makes himself available, he’s an attractive free transfer option, but it will depend on Arteta’s vision to lure him to the red side of North London.
Tottenham sealed a spot in the UEFA Champions League for next season, despite finishing 17th in the EPL, thanks to their Europa League triumph over Manchester United.
However, Spurs are locked in a state of uncertainty as decide whether or not to sack Ange Postecoglou, and that could impact Sane’s stance.
Arsenal have a massive edge over Spurs in this case, as Arteta is a big admirer of Sane, and they worked together during their joint time at City. The Spaniard believes Sane could make the left flank his own with his technical ability and prior experience in the league.
