Arsenal agree last minute loan deal for outcast to join Premier League rivals

Arsenal completed a number of deals this summer, in terms of both departures and arrivals.

Mikel Arteta wanted to strengthen his squad, while also offloading players he no longer sees fit in the club.

A last-minute deal is set to be agreed shortly, with one out-of-favor player finding a new Premier League club to call home.

Which Arsenal outcast is leaving for a league rival?

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Oleksandr Zinchenko is closing in on a loan move to Nottingham Forest.

Zinchenko is one of many who have fallen out of favor with Arteta, as there is a plethora of defenders on Arsenal’s books now.

Forest submitted a deal sheet to conclude the deal after the transfer window shut, but the loan is expected to go through.

Zinchenko has agreed personal terms with Forest, and Arsenal are content with the Ukrainian international joining the club on loan.

Forest switched their attention to Zinchenko after their move for Javi Galan collapsed.

Zinchenko’s contract with Arsenal expires in June 2026, with the Ukrainian likely having played his last match for the club.
