Arne Slot provides injury updates on Liverpool’s summer signings ahead of PL clash

After facing four consecutive defeats across competitions, Liverpool returned to their winning ways with a 5-1 victory against Eintracht Frankfurt in their third match of the 2025/26 Champions League on October 22.

However, amid the joy of securing a win on Wednesday, the Reds also had some bad news, as two of their new signings, Alexander Isak and Jeremie Frimpong, had to be substituted off during the match after sustaining injuries.

Isak, who arrived at Anfield from Newcastle United on deadline day, has suffered a groin injury. Frimpong, meanwhile, suffered a hamstring injury against Eintracht Frankfurt after just recently returning from a similar injury that led him to miss six games for club and country.

Now, Liverpool are set to face Brentford in their Premier League match on October 25 at Gtech Community Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the upcoming clash, the Reds’ head coach, Arne Slot, has provided updates on his injured players.

What did Liverpool boss Arne Slot say?

Along with Isak and Frimpong, Liverpool currently has three more outstanding injuries in their squad, including Alisson Becker, who has suffered a thigh injury, and Ryan Gravenberch, who has been sidelined with an ankle issue.

During his pre-match press conference, Slot addressed questions about his squad’s fitness and potential return dates and said,

“Alexander is not too bad. He is a question mark for the weekend so we will see where he is,” as per GOAL.

“Jeremie Frimpong is not in a good place, he won’t play today, tomorrow or next week. Hamstring injuries so that is going to take a while.”

“He [Gravenberch] didn’t travel with us so today we are again but yesterday we had a day of travel so let’s see where he is. Alisson is going to take a bit longer, so we will be patient there.”

Despite having a good start to the season with straight wins in their first league games, Liverpool’s recent losing streak currently ranks them third in the top flight with 15 points, making the upcoming match a crucial one for the Reds.
