Are Kawhi Leonard, James Harden playing tonight? Clippers injury news impacts starting lineup

The Los Angeles Clippers are part of the only NBA game of the night Thursday.

They’ll take on the Phoenix Suns as part of the rare one-game slate.

These teams just won’t be at full throttle. The Clippers are missing two very important pieces.

Are Kawhi Leonard and James Harden playing tonight?

No, neither of these Clippers stars, Leonard or Harden, is playing on Thursday night against the Suns.

Both were ruled out on Wednesday.

Harden is out for personal reasons.

Leonard is listed with an ankle injury.

Clippers starting lineup

The Clippers have to mix up their starting five in a big way with these two absences, although they do get Bradley Beal back, which helps.

The projected starting lineup would likely be:

  • Kris Dunn
  • Bradley Beal
  • Derrick Jones Jr.
  • John Collins/Nicolas Batum
  • Ivica Zubac

The Jones, Collins, Batum trio is mostly interchangeable, so it’s hard to know what the Clippers might do there. It could depend on how exactly they want to match up with the Suns.
