Antony’s plans clear as Man Utd issue transfer deadline ultimatum

Manchester United’s patience with Antony appears to be running out. The Brazilian winger’s future has been under the spotlight all summer, and the club has now reportedly drawn a line in the sand.

Antony, who impressed during a loan spell at Real Betis last season with nine goals and five assists in 26 matches, wants a permanent return to La Liga.

But there’s a problem — money. United are said to be holding out for over £30 million, a figure Betis cannot match.

Reports (via Al Final de la Palmera) suggest the 25-year-old is holding off until late in the transfer window, hoping for another loan move back to Spain.

United, however, have reportedly issued him an ultimatum: accept a permanent offer from elsewhere or be ready to warm the bench until January.

Why Man Utd desperately wants to sell Antony?

The winger arrived from Ajax with big expectations after producing 24 goals and 22 assists in the Eredivisie.

But in Manchester, the magic has faded. Just 12 goals and five assists in 96 appearances tell the story. Manager Ruben Amorim has made it clear Antony is not part of his plans — the Brazilian didn’t even joined the squad for preseason in the US.

Benfica and Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr have both been linked, with Antony’s agent Junior Pedroso confirming, “The player is on the market… he is open to moving to Saudi Arabia. Anything is possible, we are looking for what is best for him.”

United are also looking to offload Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho, with the funds possibly used for a move for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba.

For Antony, the clock is ticking. Either he finds a new club now, or risks spending the first half of the season as Old Trafford’s most expensive spectator.
