Anthony Edwards-Michael Irvin relationship, explained: NFL great keeps Wolves star from postgame interview after Game 2

The Timberwolves evened up the series with a big 117-93 victory over the Warriors in Game 2 of their second-round playoff matchup, but things were much more tense than the final score indicated, as Minnesota got a scare when star guard Anthony Edwards went down late in the first half, holding his ankle.

He was diagnosed with a left ankle sprain, but he wound up returning to start the second half, finishing with 20 points in the Wolves big victory. Edwards said his ankle felt great after the game, but it remains to be seen if he will be limited heading into Game 3 as the Timberwolves return home.

Game recognize game. Irvin is obviously an NFL legend from a Hall of Fame career. Edwards is one of the young stars in the NBA. There doesn’t seem to be a deep relationship history outside of likely respect for one another. Edwards was asked about it and simply said, “That’s OG, man. I love him, for sure.”
