Anthony Edwards, Jonathan Kuminga separated by teammates after postgame trash talk following Game 3

Anthony Edwards and Jonathan Kuminga exchanged some trash talk at the end of the Timberwolves’ 102-97 win over the Warriors in Game 3 on Saturday.

After the final buzzer sounded, the two players had to be separated at midcourt before heading to their respective locker rooms. They had been challenging each other on the court all night long, with both throwing down some vicious dunks during the game.

Edwards had a game-high 36 points to help Minnesota retake control of the series. Kuminga had 30 points off the bench for the Warriors, but it was still not enough to make up for the absence of Stephen Curry, who missed Game 3 with a hamstring injury.

Anthony Edwards-Jonathan Kuminga postgame incident

Edwards and Kuminga got into a verbal sparring match at the end of Game 3. The two had to be separated at midcourt after the final buzzer sounded. There was no physical altercation.

Edwards and Kuminga had been going at each other throughout the game. The Minnesota guard threw down one of the dunks of the year in the third quarter over Kevon Looney, driving past Kuminga before soaring at the rim.

Kuminga also threw down a dunk over Edwards, which may have sparked the heated words after the game.

Edwards explained postgame that Kuminga’s jam propelled him to his second-half flourish.

This rivalry could definitely intensify as the series progresses, as both players are going to have to play the way they did in Game 3 for their teams to have a chance to win Game 4.
