Dallas Mavericks superstar big man Anthony Davis has had some trouble staying healthy for the Mavs, but seems to have finally come back. He originally got injured in his debut game, after being involved in the blockbuster trade for Luka Doncic at the deadline.
Now, Davis is about to play his former team, the Los Angeles Lakers, this upcoming Wednesday. When asked about his emotions from facing his former team, Davis gave a blunt, yet brutal response.
“No emotions,” Davis said.
Davis seemingly doesn’t care about his former team at all, and there’s plenty of reasons why. Davis was traded to Lakers in the 2019 offseason, and won a championship that next season in 2020. He then played another four and a half seasons with the Lakers, until they traded him.
Davis seemed like he had no intention of leaving the Lakers, as in a viral interview clip from four months before the trade, Davis was confused when asked what he could accomplish in what’s left of his Lakers’ tenure. Davis responded asking why they phrased it like he was leaving.
However, at that time, a rift between the Lakers and Davis was forming. Davis wanted another big man on the Lakers so he didn’t have to play center, and the Lakers didn’t want to. So the Lakers may have traded him due to the fact it seemed like he was criticizing the front office.

Now, like how Doncic exploded for a triple-double on the Mavs earlier this season, Davis has chance to do the same against the Lakers Wednesday, and hopefully he does, to show what they are missing out on.
