Lakers star big man Anthony Davis exited the Lakers’ Christmas Day meeting with the Warriors with an apparent ankle injury.

Davis went down early in the game after a missed Los Angeles field goal. As he attempted to track where the ball would bounce, Davis appeared to misstep with his left foot and fell to the floor.

Davis got back up and moved gingerly as he attempted to play after going down.

At the end of the first quarter, Davis headed to the locker room for further evaluation. Here is the latest on his situation.

Anthony Davis injury update

Davis has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday’s game with a left ankle injury.

Davis finishes the game with 0 points and two rebounds in seven minutes. He exited ahead of the second quarter and remained in the locker room since.

At halftime, ESPN’s Shams Charania informed the network’s studio team that Davis intended to test out his re-taped ankle in the third quarter but he did not return to the floor.

After playing in 76 of 82 games last season, Davis had appeared in 29 of LA’s first 30 games this season. It is unclear whether this latest injury setback will cause Davis to miss time beyond Christmas Day.

Davis’ status moving forward will be day-to-day, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. Davis will be re-evaluated prior to the Lakers’ next game which is Saturday, Dec. 28 against the Kings.

After the game, Davis was adamant that he’ll be in action for LA’s game against the Kings.
